The modern CAD-CAM based digital workflow can eliminate the need for traditional impression making since a high-tech intra-oral scanner will digitally map the patient’s dental structures and renders a 3-D virtual image of the teeth. By enhancing the ability to assess tooth preparations, the new technologies allow us to make better observations and evaluations of the tooth preparation based on the enlarged 3D images.
